Week in Review

We’re definitely in the thick of our family’s fall busy times but it’s so heartwarming to have so many reasons to celebrate.
Over the last couple of weeks, Maggie turned 8 and Ryan turned 40 and I feel like we’ve been on a nonstop party train!
We’re gearing up for some fall travel, school parties and field trips, and a big holiday project that I’ll be sharing about very soon.
I was able to carve out a day to head to San Francisco with some friends to spend some quality time, capped off by seeing the Wicked national tour. Despite having seen it quite a few times, I’m always reminded of the important themes in the show — showing up for each other even through messy moments in friendship, fighting for what you believe in, staying true to yourself, and more.
This weekend is busy but I’m choosing to lean into the joy of having lots to do and lots to celebrate. I hope you have a great one, and that you enjoy some links from the week! xoxo
One of my favorite modern poets released her new book A Bit Much and it’s every bit as good as I’d hoped.
The news of Gavin Creel’s passing rocked the theatre world last week. If you’re not familiar with him or his work, I can’t recommend enough listening to the Original Broadway Cast Recordings of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hair, and Hello, Dolly! (my personal faves of his which really represent his incredible range and the joy that seeps through his work).
One thing we did at Maggie’s birthday party that all the girls got into no matter their age was face gems! I got this affordable little kit, set up a mirror, and let them go to town. It was super cute to see the different styles they made.

This number from So You Think You Can Dance still lives rent free in my head 13 years later and is one of the most heart-rending artistic depictions of addiction I can imagine. The talent and artistry is beyond.
Speaking of talent and artistry, this world-class clarinetist grandmother playing for her grandson is everything good about music.
I am a HUGE fan of Solitaire! I play it every day without fail, sometimes for hours on end 😅 I love zoning out with some of my favourite music and just playing it until my mind is completely clear! It’s such a calming game ☺️
If you are looking for a place to take a fall break, Brown County, Indiana, is the perfect cozy fall town! I went there last October, and it was amazing. Also, the new nonprofit project looks like a great idea. Music can have such a special impact on people, especially when they are young.
Wish you a lovely and a wonderful week!

Anytime I purchase from a local business or Etsy store I always leave a review. As a fellow seller I know the impact this can have. This was a great article showing how important it can be to you success as a small business owner. Don’t sleep on reviews!https://dylanjahraus.com/the-power-of-reviews-insights-from-dylan-jahraus/
Such a kind and thoughtful wish! Wishing you a beautiful and productive week ahead as well.
